What is Hypnosis?

By short definition, hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. By definition,
hypnosis is when the body is in a very relaxed state. When in a relaxed state, the
subconscious mind, which is governed by the right side of your brain, takes over. It
is in this state that learned behaviors such as, smoking and phobias, can be
reprogrammed. Contrary to popular belief you are not sleeping while in hypnosis.
You are extremely relaxed, but your mind is very alert.

What does Hypnosis feel like?

The feeling is best described as being similar to daydreaming. Have you ever driven
a familiar route only to realize you don't remember driving? That's the closest that
hypnosis can be described as.

Can I get stuck in Hypnosis?

After hundreds of years of the practice of hypnosis, there has never been a case of
someone remaining in the state of hypnosis. When under hypnosis, you are fully
aware, and should an earthquake or fire occur, your self preservation mechanism
would kick in. If the hypnotist is to suddenly have a heart attack while you are under
hypnosis, you will awake after not hearing their voice or after the music were to stop.

Am I too strong-willed?

While a belief that hypnosis works is certainly helpful, a skilled practitioner can
overcome the rational doubts of the conscious mind to achieve a state of hypnosis,
as long as that is what the person wants to happen.


Will Hypnosis work for me?

Anyone can be hypnotized as long as it is their free will. Whether hypnosis will work
depends on a number of factors, your belief that it will work, your desire to change,
and the power of your imagination. in other words, it will work if you want it to.
